WELCOME! ...to my artblog, with bits of lifeblogging sprinkled in.

Born in Coral Gables, Florida, I'm a self taught, somewhat shy artist who's called Tucson, Arizona my home for 40 years. I'm also a retired florist, and a fledgling bass player. I'm married to my best friend, Brian, an amazing performing singer/guitarist and IBM geek. We have two grown kids and 10 grandchildren. I struggle daily balancing family time with my music and painting studio time. I love them all, and wish the days were longer so I could fit it all in.

The purpose of this blog is simple.
To provide a showcase of sorts for my art and give a bit of insight into who I am, both as an artist, and a human being.

Included too, will be brief glimpses into this amazing life I share with my husband, Brian, and our Shetland sheepdog, Annie. Here's a link to a portrait I did of Brian onstage opening for 3 Dog Night.

Music is my muse, without it, I am lost. You'll find musical references sprinkled throughout this blog as well. I love playing my bass guitar and I always have music, of all kinds, playing in my studio while I paint.

A Year in the Life

On this blog, you'll also be able to follow A YEAR IN THE LIFE, the one year chronicle of my journey using the ARTISTS HELPING ARTISTS radio broadcasts as a guide as I step outside my comfy studio and expand my art endeavors.

Until this year, my shyness kept me from showing any of my paintings to galleries or juried organizations. An invitation in late fall 2010 from Laurie Justus Pace to join The Daily Painters of Arizona and Contemporary Fine Art International(CFAI) has me thinking now might be a good time to shed some of that shyness.
